Refund & Cancellation Policy

1) Introduction

Trayo Foundation (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a non-profit organization registered in India under Section 12A and approved under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Funds received are applied towards our charitable objects and public benefit programs.

This policy governs transactions processed through our website or official channels.

2) Donations

  • Non-refundable: All voluntary donations are non-refundable. Once received, donations are allocated to ongoing or planned charitable activities and cannot be cancelled.
  • Errors/unauthorized payments: If a donation was made in error, duplicated, or through unauthorized means, notify us within 7 working days from the transaction date with proof of payment and transaction details. Valid cases will be corrected, and if applicable, refunded.
  • Purpose-restricted donations: Where a donor specifies a purpose, we will endeavor to apply funds accordingly. If that purpose is fulfilled or becomes impracticable, funds may be reassigned to similar charitable objectives in line with our governing documents.

3) 80G Receipts

  • Eligible donations receive 80G-compliant receipts containing the donor’s name, address, PAN (if provided), donation amount, payment mode/date, and our 80G approval details.
  • Donors must provide accurate details to enable issuance of valid receipts and compliance in their tax filings.
  • If a refund is issued due to an error, the corresponding 80G receipt will be voided. Donors must not claim tax benefits for any refunded amount. Where required, we will issue a revised receipt.

4) Foreign Contributions (No FCRA)

  • We do not possess FCRA registration/approval and therefore cannot accept foreign contributions or donations in foreign currency from non-residents.
  • We accept contributions only from Indian sources and resident Indian donors through permitted domestic payment modes.
  • If any contribution is determined to be foreign contribution under applicable laws, we will initiate reversal/refund in coordination with our payment partner/bank. Additional KYC or documentation may be requested to determine residency status/source of funds.

5) Event Registrations

  • 100% refund for cancellations requested at least 7 days before the event start date.
  • No refund for cancellations within 7 days of the event. You may transfer your registration to another participant by emailing us at least 48 hours before the event.
  • If the event is postponed or cancelled by us, you may choose a full refund or transfer to a future event.

6) Merchandise (if applicable)

  • Returns/exchanges accepted within 7 days of delivery for unused, undamaged items in original packaging with proof of purchase.
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable. Return shipping is borne by the customer unless the product is defective, damaged in transit, or incorrect.
  • Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–14 working days after quality check.

7) Membership/Program Fees (if applicable)

  • Membership or program fees are non-refundable once activated, except in cases of billing error or duplicate charge.
  • Pro‑rata refunds are not offered unless expressly stated in the specific program terms.

8) Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

  • Please contact us first to resolve any payment issues. Initiating a chargeback without notifying us may delay resolution.
  • If a chargeback is initiated, we may share relevant transaction and KYC information with the payment processor to substantiate legitimate donations/fees.

9) Donor and Buyer Information; Privacy

  • We collect and process personal data necessary for issuing receipts (including 80G), accounting, shipping (for merchandise), donor engagement, and compliance with Indian laws.
  • We do not sell donor data. Limited data may be shared with payment processors, banks, auditors, logistics partners, or regulators as required for compliance and operations.
  • Data is retained per statutory requirements under Indian laws (e.g., Income Tax Act, trust/society/Section 8 regulations).

10) AML/CFT, KYC, and Sanctions

  • We may refuse, reverse, or refund transactions that are non-compliant with applicable AML/CFT, KYC, or sanctions requirements, or where the source of funds is unclear.
  • We may seek identity and address verification from donors/participants as required by law or our internal risk policies.

11) Financial Transparency

Summaries of programs and financial statements/annual reports (as available) may be published for transparency. Donors may request additional information subject to reasonable limits and confidentiality obligations.

12) Processing Timelines

Approved refunds (where applicable) are initiated within 7–14 working days, subject to bank and payment gateway timelines.
